Tampa Announces Addition Of Women's Golf
September 21, 2010TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa has announced that it is starting a women’s golf program, increasing its number of varsity athletic teams to 17. The sport is open to current UT students, effective immediately.
“This is a great opportunity for university to grow the athletic department and allow more students to have a collegiate athletic experience,” says athletic director Larry Marfise. “With women’s golf, we are able to expand the opportunities for more individuals. It also offers another means of participation giving more students the ability to benefit from the intangibles that come with being a member of a team.”
The team will compete at Rogers Park Golf Course, which is also the home course for the UT men’s program.
Currently enrolled students at UT who are interested in competing are asked to contact the women’s golf head coach, Missey Jones, at missey.jones@ut.edu.
