ICYMI: In Case You Missed It, last week men's soccer went 1-0-1, beating Rollins yesterday with a final score of 2-1 in the SSC Championship and claiming the title! This marked the third SSC tournament title for Tampa and the first since 2010. Five Spartans were named to the SSC All-Championship Team including, Jake Richards who received the Most Outstanding Player honors, Felipe DeSousa, Ramzi Toure, Marcel Salokat, and Lewis Sugden. The University of Tampa women's soccer team also competed in the SSC Championship but fell 4-2 in penalty kicks to Florida Tech after ending regulation and two overtime periods tied 0-0. Four Spartans were named to the SSC All-Championship Team including, Sarah Raymond, Miranda Gonzalez, Lacey Nasselo, and Caroline Frykgard. The team concluded its season with a record of 9-6-3. The Tampa men's golf team competed at the Rollins Invitational early last week, where they finished 17th overall. On Saturday, the men's and women's cross country both ran at the NCAA South Regional making the end of their season. The women's team took fourth place while the men took sixth. UT's men's basketball team began their 2017-18 season with a scrimmage against the University of Florida. The Spartans traveled to Gainesville where they lost to the Gators 94-57. Finally, volleyball went 2-1 last week, falling to SSC rival, Florida Southern in three before defeating the Rollins College Tars and the No. 6 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish both in five sets.

This Week's Events:

Men's Basketball:
Tampa is set to host a tournament this weekend to kick off basketball season. The Spartans will compete at 2:00 p.m. on both Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th against North Alabama and Alabama-Huntsville respectively.

Women's Basketball:
Friday and Saturday, women's basketball is set to host Spring Hill and West Georgia. These games will mark the start of basketball season for UT, with the games scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. respectively.

Men's Soccer:
The 2017 SSC Champions will compete at the NCAA Division II South Regional, which is scheduled to begin November 9. The Spartans will look to defend their 2016 South Region title.  

On Saturday, November 11th, women's rowing will head to Augusta, Georgia where they will compete in the Head of the South regatta.

The UT women's volleyball team will host two home conference matches on Tuesday and Friday. The first match will be against SSC newcomer Embry-Riddle, on Tuesday the 7th with a 7:00 p.m. start time.  The Spartans will then host Florida Tech Friday at 7:00 p.m. for senior night. Come out to Bob Martinez as the team looks to honor its four seniors and all they have given to the program.
