TAMPA WINS 200 FREESTYLE RELAY, HAMLIN SETS NATIONAL RECORD, WHILE 12 NAMED ALL-AMERICAN ON NIGHT FOUR IN EVANSVILLE
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams completed the fourth day of competition at the 2026 NCAA Swimming & Diving National Championship, marked by two National Championships, a national record, and numerous All-American swims.
Junior Jacob Hamlin put together a dominant performance in the 500 freestyle on his way to picking his second consecutive National Title in the event, breaking his own national record in the process, 4:14.35.
In the Men's 200 Freestyle Relay, Tibor Tistan, Riccardo Pandin, Nick Cavic, and William Beckstead-Holman won the National Championship for lane nine, 1:17.36, to pick up 40 crucial points in the team battle.
Head Coach Jimi Kiner on his team's National Championship-winning performances on night three,"The emotion behind the 200 Freestyle Relay was crazy, the whole team got behind it, and we needed it…and Jacob just crushed it. He had his lane and took it out from start to finish."
Jacob Hamlim on his National Championship swim this evening, "I am very proud of that swim, and I want to thank the Lord first and foremost. I was in an outside lane, and I just kind of put my head down and went for it."
Kiner on what he hopes to see from his team on the last day of competition, "They have to grind it out. They have to put it all on the line and go from there. Drury's loaded. We're loaded. So we'll see what happens. "

In the 500 freestyle, Jacob Hamlin picked up his third national championship of the weekend, setting a new national record in the process, 4:14.35 . He was joined in the championship final by Barnabas Fluck, who swam to a seventh-place finish, 4:25.03. In the consolation final, Elliot Weisel finished in sixth place, with a final time of 4:26.25, putting him at 14th overall.

The 100 backstroke saw Rufus Bernhardt finish fourth, stopping the clock at 46.47. Junior, William Beckstead-Holman picked up All-American honors with a sixth-place finish, 46.59.

In the 100 breaststroke, Britton Spann swam to an 11th-place finish, putting up a final time of 53.91.

Nick Cavic picked up another All-American selection in the 200 butterfly, finishing in fifth place with a time of 1:44.96. Josh Noll joined Cavic in the championship final, finishing in eighth place with a final time of 1:46.96. In the consolation final, Elliot Weisel finished 13th, stopping the touchpad at 1:46.70.

Laura Hodgson picked up her second consecutive All-American selection in the 500 freestyle, finishing in sixth place with a final time of 4:53.52. McKenna Patrick finished in 12th place overall following her fourth-place finish in the consolation final, 4:55.63.

In the 100 Backstroke, Sidni Meister swam to a third-place finish, stopping the clock at 54.68. She was joined in the championship final by Lindsey Louder, who finished in seventh place with a time of 55.13.

Alicia Soderlind finished 15th in the 100 breaststroke after finishing 20th a year ago, with a time of 1:02.95.

Burly Bokos swam to a seventh-place finish in the 200 butterfly, stopping the clock at 2:00.33. Sofia Krstolic picked up a 10th-place finish, swimming a final time of 2:01.24 in the consolation final.

In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Laney Jones, Tilde Morin, Madalee Roberts, and Avery Frece raced to a third-place finish in a new school record time of 1:31.28.
