Spartans Set to Host a Pair of Games this Week

Tampa, Fla - The women's lacrosse team is set to host two games this week at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. The Spartans will face West Virginia Wesleyan Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. and then face No. 15 Indiana (PA) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Spartans enter the week with a 1-4 record, after falling 20-8 to No. 3 Limestone last Monday. Tampa is led by Mallory Mays, Amanda Voges, and Morgan Cheripko. Mays leads the Spartans with nine goals and 11 points on the season, while Vodes as added eight goals and two assists. Cheripko has netted seven goals so far and leads the Spartans with 30 draw controls on the season. Wylie Cassisy has made 40 saves in the cage for Tampa.

West Virginia Wesleyan comes into the game with a 1-2 record. The Bobcats defeated Chowan in their opener before falling to Slippery Rock and Erskine. The Bobcats are lead by Taylor Holmes, Holly Lucke, and Jessica Hardman. Holmes leads the team with nine goals, while Lucke has tallied six goals and two assists. Hardman leads the team in draw controls (10) and caused turnovers (5), while picking up eight ground balls.

Indiana (PA) comes into the game with a 1-1 record after defeating Seton Hill 10-8. This will be the first of a three game trip to Florida for the Crimson Hawks. They will face Florida Southern on March 18 and Rollins on March 20. Indiana is lead by Kim Hooven and Taylor Norwood. Hooven leads the team with four goals, while Norwood has tallied four draw controls, four caused turnovers, and three ground balls. Katie Davis has made 10 saves in the cage so far this season.
