Spartans Host Three Games this Week
Tampa, Fla. - The women's lacrosse team is set to host three games this week at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. The Spartans will face Nyack College tomorrow at 7 p.m., Adams State Friday night at 6 p.m., and Emmanuel Sunday afternoon at noon.
The Spartans enter the week with a 3-7 record, after defeating Erskine 14-10 last Thursday. Tampa is led by Morgan Cheripko, Mallory Mays, and Eileen Barrett. Cheripko leads the Spartans with 77 draw controls and is second on the team with 19 goals and 17 ground balls. Mays is Tampa leading scorer netting 20 goals and tallying 25 points. Barrett has tallied 14 goals and 12 caused turnovers, while Emilie Barbosa has tallied 21 points.
Nyack comes into the game with a 0-7 record, after falling to Philadelphia 23-4 on Saturday. The Warriors are lead by Lauren Lebo and Stacey Cervantes. Lebo leads the team with 19 goals, 20 points, 19 ground balls, and 40 draw controls. Cervantes has picked up 21 ground balls and tallied seven caused turnovers and five points. Jacqueline Simeon has made 55 saves in the cage this season.
Adams State comes into the week with a 2-4 record after falling to Regis 19-6 yesterday. Melanie McKissick netted three goals and dished out one assist in the game, while Grace Komatz made 13 saves and picked up five ground balls in the cage. The Grizzlies will play Saint Leo tomorrow, before making the trip to Tampa on Friday.
Emmanuel begins the week with a 5-4 record after defeating Saint Andrew's College. In that game Tyler Rediger and Haley Larson each tallied seven points, while Megan Hart had eight draw controls, seven ground balls, and three caused turnovers. The Lions will play two games before facing the Spartans on Sunday afternoon.
