Elena de Alfredo Earns SSC Player of the Week Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa wommen's basketball player Elena de Alfredo was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

de Alfredo is awarded Player of the Week after averaging 20 points and 39 minutes for Tampa in a pair of wins. de Alfredo scored 24 points and added four assists, four rebounds, and two steals in UT's, 80-52, victory over Barry. Against Palm Beach Atlantic, the Spaniard provided Tampa with 16 points, four rebounds, and 40 minutes as the Spartans claimed a, 69-62, road victory over the Sailfish. For the week, de Alfredo shot 14-of-25 (56%) from the field, 8-of-11 (73%) from behind the arc, and 4-of-4 from the Free Throw Line. With the play of de Alfredo, Tampa moves to 13-4 overall and 8-2 in league play.
