TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team defeated Webber International University by a final score of 4-1. The Spartans are undefeated against the Warriors and lead the all-time series 3-0.
The first win of the day came from partners Nylah Demps and Taylor George. This duo won in the fours position in two sets by scores of 21-16 and 21-8. The Warriors then earned their only win on the day on the twos court, tying the match 1-1. Alexandra Misca and Sarah Moore were the second duo to get a win for Tampa. Similar to Demps and George, these two also won in two sets 21-9 and 21-15. Shortly after the fives court wrapped up, Leigh Buttner and Nicole Dominguez won in the threes position to clinch the match 3-1. After defeating the Warriors in the first set 21-10, they lost the second 14-21, and then came back and won the third 15-7. Finally, in the battle on the ones court, the freshmen duo of Sorrel Houghton and Melissa Elias won their match in 3, sealing the Spartans victory over the Warriors 4-1.

- This is the third time this season the Spartans have defeated the Warriors.
Tampa will host their final home contest of the season on Monday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. This will be the fourth time this season that the Spartans will compete against the Moccasins leading the all-time series 2-1.
