UT Beach Volleyball Dominates Day 2 of the Tampa Tournament
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team finished play at the Tampa Tournament by sweeping both Eckerd and Jacksonville.
Match 1:
The Spartans faced the Eckerd Tritons in their first match of the day. They came out strong, with each pair of doubles coming out on top for the first team win of the day. The one, two, three, five, and six positions earned the win in straight sets, while the fourth position claimed the win after just barely dropping their second set.
In the one position, Julia Oswald and Rachel Rosequist won in two sets with scores of 21-16 and a dominating 21-9 in their second set. In the two-position, the team of Valerie Rosequist and Melissa Elias would also dominate their oppoenets, winning with scores of 21-14 and 21-13. The four-position of Madison Brunick and Kiersten Anderson would clinch the first set, 21-16, bobble the second set, losing 21-18, but battle back for the win in their third set, 20-18.

Dual 2:
UT would also sweep Jacksonville to make their day undefeated. Positions one and two, Rachel Rosequist and Julia Oswald and Melissa Elias and Valerie Rosequist, respectively, would each take their opponents down in three sets, while the three- and four-positions of Tatiana Gutierrez and Katie McKiel and Madison Brunick and Kiersten Anderson, respectively, would defeat their opponents in two straight sets. Jacksonville did not register a team in the five-position giving Tampa a forfeit victory.
