Beach Volleyball Concludes Weekend With Four Victories
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team continued its dominant start to the 2026 season on Saturday, sweeping both Barry University and Saint Leo University by identical 5-0 scores at home.
The Spartans controlled the sand from the first serve of the day, not dropping a single flight across the two duals while improving their early season record in convincing fashion.
Tampa made a statement performance at the No. 1 position. Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe set the tone, defeating Isabella Rangel and Alexandra Santory in straight sets, 21-10, 21-9.
At No. 2, Anna Bayes and Reese Haley delivered another decisive victory, downing Ellie Madrigal and Ava Ross 21-14, 21-8 to extend the Spartans' lead.
Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman and Hailey Peterson continued the momentum at No. 3, earning a 21-15, 21-10 win over Marina Azevedo and Alexis Hansen. The duo controlled the net and dictated the pace throughout both sets.
Bella Rosillo and Mary Claire Oswald were sharp at the No. 4 spot, defeating Sophia Custodio and Rafaella Bardagi 21-17, 21-11.
Madison Hankins and Lauren Cook sealed the sweep at No. 5, finishing off Adrienne Saunders and Danielle Hansen 21-18, 21-16 to complete the 5-0 victory in just 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The Spartans carried their energy into the second dual of the day against Saint Leo.
Once again, Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe were dominant at No. 1, cruising to a 21-13, 21-12 victory over Thalie Brossard and Anna Intagliata.
The No. 2 pair of Lauren Duke and Jordan Berglin battled through a tightly contested first set before edging Emma Laade and Abby VanBuskirk 23-21. They closed out the match with a composed 21-17 second set to secure the point.
Fredette-Huffman and Peterson remained undefeated on the day at No. 3, defeating Tajma Muharemovic and Madison Moore 21-14, 21-13 in a controlled straight-set performance.
Tess Schrenger and Angel Williams added to Tampa's lead at No. 4 with a 21-17, 21-17 win over Erin Johnson and Paula Perez Rosales.
Hankins and Cook won in dominant fashion at No. 5, overpowering Paige Reeves and Caitlyn Kemer 21-7, 21-16 to clinch Tampa's second sweep of the day.
With back-to-back 5-0 victories, the Spartans showcased depth across all five flights, highlighted by multiple pairs going undefeated on the day. Tampa will look to carry its momentum forward as the 2026 campaign continues.
