Spartans Travel to Tallahassee for Seminole Beach Bash
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Spartans travel to Tallahassee for their first road tournament of the season.
About Tampa: The University of Tampa beach volleyball program had a successful opening weekend at the Sandy Spartan Showdown. The Spartans boast a 4-0 record after beating Mercer, Saint Leo, and Barry twice, dropping just one set in the process. It's the first time in program history that the team has started 4-0. Tampa's top pair, Hailey Wolfe and Nevaeh Wolfe, were named the SSC Pair of the Week after going 3-0 and not dropping a single set. Tampa had nine different pairs in the lineup over the four matches. The team hits the road for the first time this season.
About TCU: Entering the 2026 season, TCU is the second-winningest program in collegiate volleyball dating back to the 2021 season. TCU is coming off the program's first-ever National Championship in 2025. In its first tournament of the season, TCU posted a 3-1 record, with wins over No. 13 Grand Canyon and Arizona, along with a sweep of UC Davis to close out the weekend. The Horned Frogs rank No. 7 nationally.
About USF: The Bulls posted a 3-1 record in the program's opening weekend, including a victory over No. 20 Tulane. Julia Panko and Cornelia Crudu were named conference USA Pair of the Week following an undefeated 4-0 performance during the Bulls' inaugural weekend at the Green Wave Invitational. The Bulls received votes to be ranked nationally.
About FGCU: FGCU enters at 2-2 after knocking off South Carolina during the JU Season Opener. The Eagles also beat the Dolphins, but fell to North Florida and Stetson. The Eagles' No. 1 pair of Alexis Keeter and Ava Lilliquist has gotten out to a 3-1 record, including the decisive win over the Gamecocks.
