Beach Volleyball Claims Two Victories to Extend Match Win Streak to Three
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team delivered a strong showing on Saturday at the Tampa Beach Volleyball Complex, edging Palm Beach Atlantic 3–2 in the morning before dominating Eckerd with a 5–0 sweep in the afternoon.
How It Happened – Palm Beach Atlantic
Tampa jumped out to an early lead at the No. 1 flight, where Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe controlled the match from the start, defeating Maddie Kremer and Katelyn Nadeau in straight sets, 21-13, 21-13.
Palm Beach Atlantic responded at the No. 2 position, as Katie Galligan and Angela Goggin narrowly defeated Tess Schrenger and Hailey Peterson, 22-20, 21-9, to even the dual.
The Spartans regained momentum at the No. 3 flight, where Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman and Angel Williams delivered a strong performance, defeating Savanna Rogers and Annika Huhtamaki 21-19, 21-19 to give Tampa a 2–1 advantage.
Palm Beach Atlantic answered once again at No. 4, with Sydney Corbett and Cameron Ring edging Lauren Duke and Jordan Berglin, 21-17, 22-20, setting up a decisive match at the final court.
At the No. 5 position, Taylor Bedinghaus and Logan Martin secured the dual victory for the Spartans. After taking the first set 21-13, the Tampa pair battled through a three-set contest to defeat Maggie Cox and Zoye Caroline 21-13, 15-21, 15-7, clinching the 3–2 win for Tampa.
How It Happened – Eckerd
The Spartans carried that momentum into the afternoon matchup against Eckerd, sweeping all five flights.
At the No. 1 flight, the Wolfe sisters again set the tone, defeating Brooke Hand and Anna Jupin 21-16, 21-17 to give Tampa the early edge.
Fredette-Huffman and Williams followed with another strong showing at No. 2, defeating Teagan VanderMey and Ella Kloepper 21-14, 21-14.
Tampa extended the lead at No. 3, where Schrenger and Peterson secured a 21-19, 21-17 victory over Marti Boser and Emma Samuelson to clinch the match.
The Spartans continued their dominant play at the remaining courts. Bedinghaus and Martin cruised to a straight-set win at No. 4, defeating Addie White and Maddie Prois 21-15, 21-16.
Tampa completed the sweep at No. 5, where Anna Bayes and Duke defeated Jessi Meghreblian and Natalie Harvey 21-17, 21-15.
