Tampa Claims Duels Against Nebraska and PBA
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team delivered a strong showing on Wednesday at the Tampa Beach Volleyball Complex, earning a pair of 4-1 victories over Nebraska and Palm Beach Atlantic.
How It Happened – Nebraska
The Spartans opened the day with an impressive win over Nebraska, taking four of five flights to secure the dual.
Tampa struck first at the No. 1 position, where Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe controlled the match from start to finish with a dominant 21-15, 21-13 victory.
The Spartans added another point at No. 3 as Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman and Hailey Peterson handled their Nebraska counterparts in straight sets, 21-16, 21-15.
At the No. 4 flight, Lauren Duke and Logan Martin battled through a competitive matchup, closing out a 21-19, 23-21 win to give Tampa a 3-1 advantage.
Tampa sealed the dual at the No. 5 position, where Sammie Ostrander and Jordan Berglin secured a convincing 21-15, 21-11 victory.
Nebraska's lone point came at No. 2, where Harper Murray and Andi Jackson defeated Tess Schrenger and Angel Williams, 21-19, 21-19.
How It Happened – Palm Beach Atlantic
Tampa returned to the sand in the afternoon and once again secured a 4-1 victory, this time over Palm Beach Atlantic.
The No. 1 pair of Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe continued their strong play, earning a 21-19, 21-19 win to give the Spartans an early edge.
At No. 2, Tess Schrenger and Angel Williams battled through a three-set match, ultimately prevailing 21-11, 13-21, 15-13.
Palm Beach Atlantic picked up its only point at the No. 3 position, where Sydney Corbett and Katelyn Nadeau defeated Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman and Hailey Peterson in straight sets.
Tampa responded at No. 4 with a gritty three-set win from Anna Bayes and Lauren Duke, who rallied for a 21-19, 19-21, 15-10 victory.
The Spartans clinched the match at No. 5, as Taylor Bedinghaus and Sammie Ostrander secured a 21-17, 21-13 win.
