Spartans Ranked 19th In Latest Poll
TAMPA, Fla. - After a 1-2 weekend against Sunshine State Conference foe Nova Southeastern, the University of Tampa baseball team has been ranked 19th in the latest Collegiate Baseball NCAA II National Poll, down from last week's 12-spot. The Spartans are now 23-9 overall and 4-2 in the SSC.
Tampa salvaged the series with a 14-3 win in the second game of Sunday's double header matchup versus the Sharks. NSU moved up to No. 10 in this week's poll, which includes four SSC teams in the top-20. Florida Southern (T-1st) and Barry (T-8) are also ranked.
UT returns home this week with a Thursday night game against Southern Connecticut State University before welcoming the Lynn University Fighting Knights for a three-game conference set. Lynn had been ranked 20th in last week's poll before dropping two to Saint Leo. Tampa will offer livestats through www.tampaspartans.com.
