Tampa Places Three on Daktronics All-Region Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference champion University of Tampa baseball team had three student-athletes honored as first-team all-South Region selections by Daktronics.

SSC Pitcher of the Year Mike Adams was joined by Michael Danner and Jacob Tillotson as all three earned a spot on the first team.

Adams, a senior left-handed pitcher from Spring Hill, Fla., is now 7-0 on the season with a team-best 1.33 ERA. In 54.0 innings of work, Adams also leads all Spartans with 67 strikeouts while walking just seven. Opposing hitters are batting just .198 versus the southpaw.

Danner, a junior outfielder from Tampa, leads the team in batting average (.374) and RBI (42). He also has five home runs while posting a .472 on-base percentage.

Tillotson, a sophomore shortstop from Lake City, Fla., is batting .373 with 32 RBI. He also owns a .460 on-base percentage.

The first-team players will now appear on the ballot for All-American honors with all first-team all-region players.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.

The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA).
