Michael Danner Named SSC Offensive Baseball Player of the Week
WINTER PARK, Fla. - The University of Tampa's Michael Danner was selected Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week, presented by VALIC.
Danner, a senior outfielder from Tampa, Fla., led the No. 1 Spartans to a 4-0 week, including a sweep of conference foe Eckerd. Danner finished the week with a batting average of .800 (8-of-10) and a slugging percentage of 1.600 with a triple and two home runs.
Against Flagler, Danner hit his first career grand slam in a 17-7 win to go 1-for-1 with a walk and four RBI.
The senior went 7-of-9 at the plate against Eckerd. In game one, he went 3-of-4 with a home run, and RBI and three runs scored. In the series finale, he went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI.
