NCAA South Regional: Championship Sunday
TAMPA, Fla. - Following a three-day span that included a total of nine games, longtime Sunshine State Conference rivals Tampa and Florida Southern still stand at the 2014 NCAA Division II Baseball South Regional.
UT is serving as the host as all tournament games are being played at the UT Baseball Field. A pair of national powerhouse programs, Tampa and Florida Southern have combined to win a total of 15 national championships. The institutions have accounted for four national titles in the last nine years.
Play will begin at noon, with UT needing one win to advance to the NCAA II Championship Series, as FSC needs a pair of wins. A Florida Southern victory would force a second game, which would be played approximately 45 minutes after game one.
The Championship Series is scheduled from May 24-31 in Cary, N.C., as the champions of the eight NCAA II regions will each be represented.
