AUGUSTA, Ga. - No. 1 Tampa (10-1) closed out the second game of a three game series against Georgia Regents of Augusta (5-4) with a score of 10-4.
The Spartans dominated the game from the third inning with a double to right field from Giovanni Alfonzo, followed by another double from Ian Townsend to advance the runners and allow two to score. Nick Tindall with three hits on the game hit a single up the middle to bring in four runners on the inning.
Junior Nick Flair hit a single to left center bringing in two runners to extend the game lead in the top of the seventh inning. Townsend tripled up the middle for an RBI before making it to home plate to close out the inning with an 8-3 lead.
Senior Chase Sparkman (2-0) threw the first pitch to the Jaguars with two strike outs, followed by right-hand pitcher Dylan Barrow with three strike outs to secure the win for Tampa, Brett Favre closed out the game permitting only one hit by the Jaguars.
