TAMPA, FL. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans fall to Mississippi College in NCAA regionals.

All-Time Series: This was the 8th meeting between these two programs. The Spartans are 5-3 against the Golden Rams.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With one out Nico Saladino drew a walk. After a J.D. Urso single, Edgardo Villegas singled to bring home Saladino, advancing Urso to third, and Villegas would advance to second on the play. Brayden Woodburn followed with a single to center field to bring home Urso. End 1 | 2-1 Tampa
- With two outs and nobody on base, Urso doubled to left field. Villegas followed with a single to right field to bring home Urso. End 3 | 3-2 Tampa
- Jhoander Irigoyen singled to left center to lead off the inning.
Cole Russo then singled to right field to give the Spartans first and second. After a Kevin Karstetter flyout to right field, Irigoyen advanced to third. Lenny Ashby flew out to center field to bring home Irigoyen. End 4 | 5-4 Mississippi College - Karstetter would lead off the inning with a single, backed up the middle. Later in the inning, with two outs, Saladino doubled to left field to bring home Karstetter. Final | 13-5 Tampa

ON THE MOUND:
- C.J. Williams started on the mound. He threw 5.2 innings, striking out 3 while giving up 7 earned runs. Williams end with his 3rd loss of the season and is now 12-3.
- Ryan Stefiuk came in relief for Williams. He threw 1 inning while giving up 2 earned runs.
- Michael Alfonso came in relief for Stefiuk. He threw 0.1 innings, striking out 1 batter.
