Five Spartans Named First-Team D2CCA All-Region

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa baseball team placed five student-athletes on the 2026 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region Team, highlighted by four first-team selections and one second-team honoree following another standout season for the Spartans.

Tampa's first-team selections included graduate pitcher B.J. Bailey, junior pitcher Robert Satin, senior catcher Jhoander Irigoyen, senior second baseman Brayden Woodburn, and senior outfielder Jordan Evans. The Spartans currently hold a 44-8 overall record and captured the NCAA South 2 Regional title to advance to the NCAA Super Regional round.

Bailey, a graduate left-hander from Woodruff, South Carolina, earned first-team all-region honors after serving as one of the top starting pitchers in the South Region throughout the season. Bailey compiled a 13-0 record with a 1.96 ERA across 96.1 innings while striking out 94 batters. Opponents hit just .208 against the Tampa ace, who helped anchor one of the nation's top pitching staffs.

Satin, a junior left-hander from Tampa, Florida, was also selected to the first team after posting an 11-2 record with a 2.21 ERA over 97.2 innings pitched. Satin recorded 105 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .234 batting average and has been a consistent force in the Spartans' rotation during Tampa's postseason run.

Behind the plate, senior catcher Jhoander Irigoyen of Winter Garden, Florida received first-team recognition following an outstanding campaign. Irigoyen hit .384 with 11 doubles, 11 home runs, 61 RBI, and a .626 slugging percentage in 52 games. Defensively, he threw out 24 baserunners and committed just one error all season for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Woodburn, a senior from Winter Springs, Florida, collected first-team honors after leading the Spartans with a .378 batting average while starting all 52 games. The second baseman totaled 70 hits, 45 RBI, 67 runs scored, and 18 stolen bases while posting a .500 on-base percentage. Defensively, Woodburn registered a .973 fielding percentage with 112 assists.

Evans rounded out Tampa's first-team selections after batting .361 with 15 doubles, seven home runs, 45 RBI, and 62 runs scored. The senior outfielder from Tuscaloosa, Alabama also added 23 stolen bases and posted a .601 slugging percentage while serving as one of the top offensive catalysts in the Spartans lineup.

The D2CCA All-South Region teams are voted on by sports information directors from across the region and recognize the top performers from the Sunshine State Conference, Gulf South Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
