Chris King Named SSC Player of Week Following Victory Over #5 Rollins
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's basketball player Chris King has been named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 3, as announced by the league office on Monday. King led the 6-1 Spartans to a win over fifth-ranked Rollins in the SSC opener.
A junior guard from Orlando, Fla., King notched a double-double to lead the Spartans to a victory over #5 Rollins in the teams' SSC opener. King registered a career-high 21 points to go with 10 rebounds, two steals, and an assist in the contest. He shot a solid 66.7 percent (8-for-12) from the field and connected on 57 percent (4-of-7) of his three-point attempts.
King becomes the second Spartan to earn the weekly award this season, joining Chris Evans, who was honored on November 19.
