UT Men Set to Play in NCAA Tournament
LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's basketball team will make its first NCAA II tournament appearance since 2002 on Saturday as it competes in the NCAA II South Regional against Harding University.
The game, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., will be played on the campus of top-seed Florida Southern College. UT is looking to register its first NCAA tourney victory since 2001 when it topped Adelphi (N.Y.) College in the NCAA II Elite Eight.
Ticket prices for each session are $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens/students with ID. An all-session pass is available for $20. All seats are general admission.
Game 1 - 12:00 p.m. - #2 Benedict (26-4) vs. #7 Eckerd (19-9)
Game 2 - 2:30 p.m. - #3 Tampa (20-8) vs. #6 Harding (18-12)
Game 3 - 6:00 p.m. - #1 Florida Southern (24-8) vs. #8 Ouachita Baptist (19-9)
Game 4 - 8:30 p.m. - #4 North Alabama (24-8) vs. #5 Christian Brothers (22-9)
The semifinals will be played Sunday at 5:00 p.m. (Game 1 Winner vs. Game 2 Winner) and 7:30 p.m. (Game 3 Winner vs. Game 4 Winner), with the championship set for Tuesday, Mar. 18, at 7 p.m.
