After Living Around the Country, Brian Wright Now Calls Tampa Home
You don't often run into someone that can say they have lived in seven different states. Brian Wright, a senior forward on the University of Tampa men's basketball team, has lived all over the United States after growing up with a father who was in the military.
Born in Italy, Wright has lived in Kansas, Colorado, South Carolina, Kentucky, northern California, southern California, Pennsylvania and Florida. "Of all of the places I have lived, California is definitely my favorite. Florida is a close second. When I was younger, moving was hard on me because I had to leave all of my friends. However, when I grew older I got used to it. I attended two different high schools and now am at my third different college."
Prior to transferring to UT, Wright attended Tallahassee Community College and University of South Florida. "I have never been happier than I am here at UT. It is a perfect fit with both school and basketball."
Wright is a Business Management major and wants to be an entrepreneur when he graduates. "My favorite class that I've ever taken at UT was speech with professor Ann Coats. I just love the small classrooms here at UT. The professors really do care and give one-on-one attention to their students."
When Wright has time off from school and basketball, he enjoys fishing, bike riding and watching his favorite teams play: Miami Heat and the New York Yankees. His favorite sport to watch of course is college basketball. He has always been a fan of coach Krzyzewski and Duke basketball.
Wright's favorite places to eat include In and Out Burgers and Tijuana Flats. "I'm not a picky eater. I love fish and also Mexican."
Wright stays close with his two younger siblings, Connor and Katie. "I'm a very family oriented person. I have my mom and dad to thank for shaping me into the person I am today. They've always been the ones that push me to do my best."
Brian Wright has friends all over the country, and has a home here at University of Tampa.
