Tampa Takes South Region Contest at PBA
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The University of Tampa (15-8) men's basketball team picked up a crucial NCAA South Region victory with an 84-74 victory at Palm Beach Atlantic University (9-13) on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans led throughout the contest, including a 37-35 advantage at halftime. The Sailfish rallied from a double-figure deficit in the second half to come within two points with 8:45 to play. That prompted a 10-0 Spartan run to put the game out of reach, securing a season-sweep of PBA.

Jordan Davis added 17 points while fellow starter Matt Johnson chipped in 10. Freshman Marcell Robinson gave UT a spark off the bench with 12 points and five rebounds.
Tampa connected on nine 3-pointers, and also made 17-of-20 free throw attempts in the game. Davis and Johnson each added seven assists for the team.
The Spartans will return to Sunshine State Conference action on Wednesday at Saint Leo University. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. Please visit TampaSpartans.com for links to the live stats and broadcast.
