TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's basketball team will host the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish on Saturday January 6th. The men will compete at 4:00 pm following the women's matchup at 2:00 pm.

Last Time Out: The Spartans traveled to Daytona Beach to take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles and came out with the win, 98-82. Anthony Gamble led all Spartans with 29 points, four rebounds, and one block. Marcel Robinson added 15 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Duke Shelton notched another double-double after recording 17 points and 12 rebounds. Pat Bacon also recorded a double-double with 10 assists and 15 points. As a team, the Spartans shot 59.7 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the line. Both Bacon and Robinson reached the 1,000 career point milestone in the victory over the Eagles.
About the Spartans: Bacon is second in the conferene in scoring and leads Tampa offensively, tallying 21.9 points per game. He is followed by senior Marcel Robinson and Duke Shelton with 14.8 and 13.6 points per game, respectively. Shelton sits in second place in the SSC for rebounds with 12 per game and in second place for blocked shots with 1.6 per game. As a team, the Spartans have a 46.4 field goal percentage.
About the Sailfish: The Sailfish are led offensively by De'Ondre Jackson who has 229 points and is averaging 13.5 points per game. He is followed by Jules Jasmin who has 208 points and tallies 12.2 points per game. As a team, PBA is shooting 50.1 percent from the field and collecting 33 rebounds per game.
