Amari Davis Named SSC Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa standout Amari Davis has been honored as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced Monday.

Davis collects Player of the Week laurels following 25.5 points per game across Tampa's two games last week. The Trotwood, Ohio guard led the Spartans to a 106-103 double overtime win against Francis Marion following 30 points, five rebounds, three steals, and an assist. Davis followed with 21 points, five rebounds, and a steal during an 86-80 loss to Georgia College. He totaled 51 points by shooting 38% from the field (15-40), 33% from behind the arc (1-3), and 80% from the free-throw line (20-25).

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of November 13 - 19, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
