HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half

Barry's offense picked up the pace, and the tight contest began. Trey Lane got to work from behind the arc, and things remained close as Justin Taylor hit a three to fight for a Spartans lead. Tampa continued to connect from deep, going on a late first-half run and building a lead. Lane's layup right as the half drew to a close gave the Spartans a 50–34 advantage heading into the break.

Lane and Blount continued the Spartans' attack from three as the Buccaneers tried to lessen the deficit. Trent Scott took over the offense with three consecutive layups and a trip to the line. Cole Gingeleski worked in the paint on both ends with a layup followed immediately by a block. B.J.
