Rains Delays Round Two of Spartan Invitational
TAMPA, Fla. - Through one round of the annual Spartan Invitation, The University of Tampa golf team is currently fifth overall. Play will resume on Tuesday after rain shortened the second round of the event. Rounds two and three will both be played on Tuesday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Rogers Park.
UT finished its first round with a 299, for +15. The Spartans lead fellow Sunshine State Conference opponents Eckerd and Florida Tech and trail frontrunner Brevard Community College by 12 strokes.
Sophomore Kyle Roy led UT with a 71 in the first round. Roy is tied for third place while teammate Ryan Barnett is eighth after golfing an 82.
Other Spartans in the lineup are Chad Bouchard (78), Kris Shane (78) and Nicolas Jutigny (79). Spartans who are participating as individuals include Charlie Green (76), Eric Snow (77), Josh Detmer (77), Weston Parrish (79), Mike Mottola (82) and Brett St. Clair (87).
