Conor Whipple Wins a Pair of Weekly Awards
Spartans move up to No. 7 in National Poll
TAMPA, Fla - After playing a key role in Tampa's 15-6 win over No. 6 New York Tech last Friday, Conor Whipple was named the Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week and the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Whipple led the Spartans netting four goals in the contest including a scoring a hat trick in the second half. Whipple's first goal came a minute into the second quarter to give Tampa a 3-2 lead, which they wouldn't relinquish. Whipple scored a pair of goals in the third quarter and finished the night scoring the first goal in the fourth quarter. He also tallied two ground balls and a caused turnover in the game.
The Spartans, who moved up six spots in this week's ranking to No. 7 in the country, will travel to Salisbury, N.C. to face Catawba Sunday, February 23 at 1 p.m.
