Mike Morris Earns SSC Player of the Week Award

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Mike Morris (Jr., Oakville, Ontario) of the University of Tampa is the SSC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. Will Cothron (Jr. Ocala, Fla.) of Saint Leo University is named the SSC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

Morris and Cothron were selected SSC Athletes of the Week from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 2-8.

Tampa pushed its SSC record to 2-0 last week with the help of attacker Mike Morris. In the 16-12 win over a Florida Southern team that was picked second by coaches in the SSC preseason rankings, Morris had five goals on nine shots to help No. 8 Tampa move to 4-1 on the year.

He also added two ground balls. Morris and the Spartans will now host three straight home games, the third being against No. 11 Mercyhurst (Penn.).
