Spartans Climb Two Spots in Latest USILA Coaches Poll
After winning the SSC Tournament Championship, the Spartans climb two spots in the latest USILA coaches poll.
TAMPA, Fla. – In the USILA Division II Coaches poll announced on Monday, April 30th, the University of Tampa men's lacrosse program was tabbed the No. 7 best team in the nation.
Last week, Tampa ended with a perfect 2-0 record. The Spartans went undefeated in the SSC Tournament, taking home the title of SSC Champions for the fifth consecutive year. In the semifinal matchup, the Spartans defeated the Florida Tech Panthers by a final score of 19-12. They then went on to defeat the then No. 5 ranked Saint Leo Lions by a final score of 8-6. After this weekends performance, the Spartans are now 15-4 overall and look to continue their three-game winning streak.
The Sunshine State Conference is well represented in the coaches poll. Saint Leo now holds the No. 6 ranking, followed by UT at No. 7 and Florida Tech snagging No. 16.
