Tampa Men's Lacrosse Announce Team Captains, 2020 Schedule
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's lacrosse team has announced their five captains for the 2020 season. Ross Dickerson, Devon Hess, Jake Mosher McGraw, Nick Perrot, and Bryan Wright all have earned the honor to lead the Spartans into the season.
Ross Dickerson is a senior midfielder from Berlin, M.D. Dickerson is coming off an accomplished junior campaign where he earned first-team All-Conference, USILA Second Team All-American, and 2019 Sunshine State Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Devon Hess is a senior midfielder from Downingtown, P.A. Hess played in 17 games last year, and during his career he has earned the DII ADA Academic Achievement Award.
Jake Mosher McGraw is a senior midfielder from Saint John, New Brunswick. Last year he earned First Team All-Sunshine State Conference after putting up 47 goals. He also was named an USILA Second Team All-American.
Nick Perrot is a senior defender from Chesapeake, V.A. During his junior year, he appeared in 15 games, causing 11 turnovers and picking up nine ground balls.
Bryan Wright is a senior attackman from Moorestown, N.J. During his junior campaign, he collected double-digit goals in eight games. As a sophomore he was named First Team All-SSC.
UT will have 10 home games this year; nine games will be played at Naimoli Stadium and one game will be played under the lights of Pepin Stadium. The Spartans will be away from Tampa for six games. The Spartans schedule also features eight games against teams ranked in the 2020 Nike/US Men's Lacrosse Division II Top-20 list. The Spartans enter the year as the sixth ranked team in the nation.
Tampa's season starts at home on February 8th, as they welcome in the ninth ranked Queens College of Charlotte Royals into Naimoli Stadium. On March 4th, Tampa will face off against Adelphi University in a neutral site game played at Johns Hopkins University. The Panthers are ranked second in the preseason poll.
Tampa will open up Sunshine State Conference play on March 21st as they travel to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn University Fighting Knights. UT will wrap up the regular season on April 18th against Palm Beach Atlantic University. This will also be Senior Day for 10 student-athletes.
