UT Men’s Soccer Set To Host Flagler College
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (2-8-2, 2-3-1 SSC) men's soccer team takes the field at Pepin Stadium for a Wednesday evening match at 7 p.m., against the Flagler College Saints (10-3-1).
Tampa is 11-1-1 all-time against Flagler, falling to the Saints 2-1 on the road. The Spartans are 2-1 against Flagler dating back to 2007. Senior midfielder Ryan Griffin leads the team in goals with seven, while junior midfielder Dominic Cutrofello is second on the team with four.
Tampa is coming off a 1-0 loss to Eckerd College on Monday night. The Spartans were outshot in that game 19-12. Sophomore goaltender David Niepel was credited with eight saves in the game.
UT has been outscored 25-16 so far this season.
Flagler College has outscored its opponents 36-12 this season. Senior forward Mack Hough has nine goals and 17 shots on goal this season. Another bright spot for the Saints is senior midfielder Johan Bergfield. Bergfield has scored six goals, four of them coming as game winners.
Flagler College has won five straight games dating back to the start of October. The Saints outscored its opponents 14-3 in those five games.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $5 (adults) and $3 (children and senior citizens). UT students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.
