Spartans Fall For the First Time in 2025 at Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. — The No. 6 University of Tampa men's soccer team suffer their first loss of the season against Rollins.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

First Half: 

The game started out going back and forth until Rollins broke the ice in the 17th minute. The Tars pressed immediately after looking for a second, but could not find one. The Spartans were unable to take advantage of the chances they created in the first half after failing to score from 6 first half corner kicks.

Score: 1-0 Rollins

Second Half: 

The Tars were able to add to their advantage in the 63rd minute giving the Spartans their largest deficit of the season. The Spartans were able to answer quickly in the 69th minute when Oscar Warne scored his second goal of the season with an assist from Felix Poschmann. The Spartans were unable to complete the comeback despite outshooting the Tars 7-5 in the second half. 

Final Score: 2-1 Rollins 

INSIDE THE STATS:

• The Spartans tied season highs in team shots (13) and corner kicks (8).
• Three Spartans recorded 3 shots each (Rodrigo Lopes, Viggo Svedin, and Warne)
• Poschmann recorded the first assist of his Spartan career.
