No. 12 Spartans Set for Nationally Ranked Matchup with Mocs
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams are set to host SSC opponent Florida Southern College on Friday.

Women's Matchup: No. 12 University of Tampa Spartans vs. No. 19 Florida Southern College Mocs

Last Time Out: The Spartans are coming off a pair of victories last weekend against St. Thomas on Friday, and Rollins on Saturday.
About the Spartans: SSC Swimmer of the Week Noah Paut racked up a total of seven first-place finishes over the weekend to lead UT to victory against St. Thomas, 169-90, and Rollins, 154-51. Paut finished the 50 freestyle with a top weekend time of 20.75 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.87. Elizaveta Bazarova led the way for the Spartan woman earning finishing on top five times over the course of the weekend. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Bazarova finished with a top weekend time of 1:56.33 and finished the 50 free at 24.53. The final scores for the women were 182-73 against St. Thomas and 145-60 against Rollins.
About the Mocs: Florida Southern is also coming off an SSC victory against Rollins College on Friday. The men beat the Tars, 203-57 as they won every individual event during the meet. Brandon Dyck finished first in both the 100 and 200 Yard Backstroke. Keith Peristeridis also took home two firsts in the 200 and 500 Yard Freestyle. The women also took down Rollins with a score of 158-104. Olivia Miles won the 500 and 1,000 yard freestyle events, Alizee Pelletier won both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, and Jazzy Hoffmann also won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle.
Matchup History: The Spartan Men dropped their doubleheader against the Mocs last season, 101-29 and 101-28. The Spartan Women won both of their meets last season, 71-58 and 77-53.
