Women's Swimming Rises to No. 10 in CSCAA Poll
RICHMOND, Va. - Both University of Tampa swimming teams remain ranked in the second College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll. The organization has released its 2021-22 Division II December Swimming & Diving Poll today.
UT's women climb up to 10th in the nation from their previous rank at 12th, while the men are ranked 20th nationally.
On the men's side, The University of Indianapolis kept their top spot from the November poll. Fellow Sunshine State Conference opponents Florida Southern (6), and Nova Southeastern (16) also remain ranked. Queens University of Charlotte and Indianapolis share first place on the women's side each with 147 points. SSC opponents in the top-25 include Nova Southeastern (7), Rollins (15), Florida Southern (15), and Lynn (18).
In November, both UT teams went undefeated. The women had beat Florida Tech, 186-76, and earned a pair of victories over then-No. 17 Saint Leo, 137-48 and 145-40. The Spartan men also swept the month with wins over then-No. 22 Florida Tech, 207-54, and then-No. 25 Saint Leo, 108-74 and 114.5-67.5.
Tampa will be back in action next week when they take the pool for their annual Spartan Invite December 17-20. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by finals at 5:00 p.m. at the Clearwater Aquatics Center. Fans can watch live on TampaSpartans.tv and follow on the MeetMobile app.
The rankings are voted on by CSCAA-member coaches and select media. The committee includes six representatives from division II institutions and two media members. The remaining polls are scheduled for release on January 19, and February 9, and March 4. These dates are subject to change.
