Hayden Curley Rewarded For Excellent Spartan Invite With SSC Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Following a four-day span of record performances, University of Tampa men's swimmer Hayden Curley has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Curley is awarded Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season following his performance at the Spartan Invite. Most notably, the Orlando native established an SSC record on Day 1 of the invite, with a time of 8:56.58 in the 1,000 Free. Curley also set the Tampa program record with a 4:20.77 in the 500 Free. He added first-place finishes in 400 IM (3:49.25) and 1,650 Free (15:15.26). The graduate student registered NCAA "A" time cut in 500 and 1,000 Free, and "B" standards in 400 IM and 1,650 Free. He also had a "B" cut in a third-place 200 Back finish of 1:47.63.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of December 12 - 19, 2022. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
