Tampa Continues to Lead at SSC Championships With Four Titles on Day Three
OCALA, Fla. – The University of Tampa swimming programs extended their lead on both the men's and women's sides during day three of the Sunshine State Conference Championships, fueled by multiple event titles, dominant relay performances, and a surge of high‑impact scoring across Friday's finals at the FAST Center.
Tampa captured four total event wins on the night, including both 400 IM titles and the women's 400 medley relay, and strengthened its grip on first place entering the championship weekend.

- 100 Butterfly: William Beckstead-Holman led the Spartans with a third‑place finish, stopping the clock in 46.83. Tibor Tistan added an eighth‑place effort in 47.84. In the B‑final, Tampa continued to build momentum as Alfredo Dominguez (10th overall, 48.24) and Jared Allison (13th, 48.69) contributed key points.
- 400 Individual Medley: Freshman Nick Cavic powered to a conference title, winning the event in 3:51.22. Oliver Pope followed with a strong third‑place finish at 3:52.47, and freshman Kasparas Venslauskas secured seventh in 4:00.53. In the B‑final, Tampa added substantial depth scoring from Mathias Holmann (10th overall, 3:59.09) and Britton Spann (8th in A‑final, 4:00.68).
- 200 Freestyle: Jacob Hamlin continued his standout championship with a victory in 1:34.99, adding another gold to his performance resume. Aidan Clements also reached the A‑final, placing eighth in 1:39.73. Tampa again scored heavily in the B‑final, with Barnabas Fluck (9th, 1:37.32), Elliot Weisel (11th, 1:38.06), and Josh Noll (12th, 1:38.35) all collecting points.
- 400 Medley Relay: Tampa's A‑relay secured a runner‑up finish in 3:09.84, powered by the lineup of Rufus Bernhardt, River Streefland, William Beckstead-Holman, and Riccardo Pandin. The B‑relay surged to a heat victory and ninth place overall, clocking 3:15.00 behind Mathias Holmann, Kasparas Venslauskas, Tibor Tistan, and Jacob Hamlin.
Top Tampa Performers (Women)
- 100 Butterfly: Freshman Madalee Roberts led Tampa with a third‑place finish in 54.24. She was followed closely by Sofia Krstolic (5th, 55.37) and Hannah-Claire Jowers (6th, 55.77). In the B‑final, Tampa continued to add depth with performances from Sidni Meister (10th overall, 56.27), McCall Freiburger (13th, 57.35), and Sara Safranko (14th, 57.67).
- 400 Individual Medley: Burlingtyn Bokos claimed Tampa's first women's title of the night, dominating the field in a school record time of 4:16.17. She was joined atop the standings by teammates Caroline Foltz (3rd, 4:22.70), Carlie Tyler (4th, 4:24.93), Morgan Wimberly (6th, 4:25.56), and Caroline Byers (7th, 4:26.05) to complete an overwhelming Tampa presence. In the B‑final, senior Kim McCaffrey won the heat and finished 9th overall in 4:24.41, delivering one of the session's biggest scoring swings.
- 200 Freestyle: McKenna Patrick recorded Tampa's top finish, placing third in 1:48.98. Lindsey Louder secured fifth with 1:49.99, and Avery Frece added an eighth‑place finish in 1:50.65. In the B‑final, Laura Hodgson took 10th overall with 1:51.89, and Alyssa Webb added a 14th‑place effort at 1:52.37.
- 400 Medley Relay: Tampa's A‑relay delivered a championship victory in 3:41.59, as Lindsey Louder, Caroline Foltz, Burlingtyn Bokos, and Tilde Morin powered the Spartans to the wall first. The B‑relay posted a strong 9th‑place finish in 3:42.96 with Kim McCaffrey, Hannah‑Claire Jowers, Sofia Krstolic, and Madalee Roberts.
