Spartans Split Squad, Send Distance to WashU and Sprinters to UCF
ST. LOUIS, Mo. / ORLANDO, Fla. – Splitting their squad across two meets, the University of Tampa men's and women's track teams posted a productive weekend of competition, sending their distance runners to the WashU Distance Carnival while the sprinters and hurdlers competed at the UCF Knights Invite.
At WashU, Tampa's distance groups faced deep, nationally competitive fields. On the women's side, Hannah Diete delivered a historic performance in the 5,000 meters, breaking the school record with a time of 16:54.3, leading a strong Spartan effort that also included Emily Kriney (17:08.7), Abby Tudeen (17:25.2), Lindsey Volkman (17:25.9) and Taylor Guthrie (17:33.9). Tampa also competed in the longer distances, paced by Camryn Sattler (36:35.9) and Bella Noreika (37:55.9) in the 10,000 meters, while Mary Richmond represented UT in the 3,000‑meter steeplechase.
On the men's distance side at WashU, Zachary Kehler led Tampa in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:50.8, while Will Cerrutti competed in the 5,000 meters. The Spartans logged key experience in the 10,000 meters behind Ace Estevez (30:53.8), Elijiah Rivera (31:05.6) and Brandon Witherow (31:40.5).
Meanwhile at UCF, Tampa's sprint and hurdle groups turned in strong performances against a deep field. Jacob Khashou led the men in the short sprints, running 10.59 in the 100 meters and 21.71 in the 200 meters, while multiple Spartans competed across the sprints and middle distances. Cyron Gray (1:53.4) and Josh Hindman (1:54.5) paced the men's 800 meters, and the Spartans fielded several strong relay squads, including a third‑place finish in the men's 4x100‑meter relay (41.37).
On the women's sprint side, Sarah Martinez (12.37) and Chloe Green (12.40) led Tampa in the 100 meters and doubled back in the 200 meters, while Kendra Krueger continued her strong season in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.86. Tampa also showed depth across the hurdles and relays, highlighted by performances from Kate Carter, Allison Murphy, Madi Tweedie, and Ava Stout, and capped the weekend with a 3:57.6 showing in the women's 4x400‑meter relay.

100 Meters:
In the men's 100 meters at UCF, Jacob Khashou led Tampa with a time of 10.59, followed by Calvin Jordan (10.74) and Collin Kavulic (10.87).
200 Meters:
In the men's 200 meters, Jacob Khashou paced UT with a time of 21.71, with Collin Kavulic, Jayden Leonard, Antonio Colon, and Max Faught also competing.
400 Meters:
In the men's 400 meters, Eliezer Nicolas led the Spartans with a time of 49.96, followed by Luca Rius (50.48) and Revin Olsen (51.00).
800 Meters:
In the men's 800 meters, Cyron Gray paced UT with a time of 1:53.4, followed by Josh Hindman (1:54.5).
1,500 Meters:
In the men's 1,500 meters at WashU, Zach Kehler led Tampa with a time of 3:50.8.
5,000 Meters:
In the men's 5,000 meters, Will Cerrutti competed for the Spartans, while Jackson Levine led UT at UCF with a 6th‑place finish in 15:27.7.
10,000 Meters:
In the men's 10,000 meters, Ace Estevez (30:53.8), Elijiah Rivera (31:05.6), and Brandon Witherow (31:40.5) represented Tampa.
3,000m Steeplechase:
In the men's 3,000‑meter steeplechase at UCF, Hayden Reich led UT with a 5th‑place finish in 9:31.8, followed by Nolan Bonta, Aidan Carroll, Sam Buytaert, and Isaac Perez.
4x100m Relay:
In the men's 4x100‑meter relay, Tampa's A team (Collin Kavulic–Jacob Khashou–Jayden Leonard–Calvin Jordan) placed 3rd in 41.37.

100 Meters:
In the women's 100 meters at UCF, Sarah Martinez led Tampa with a time of 12.37, followed closely by Chloe Green (12.40).
200 Meters:
In the women's 200 meters, Sarah Martinez (25.84) and Chloe Green (25.93) paced the Spartans.
400 Meters:
In the women's 400 meters, Madi Tweedie led UT with a time of 59.28, followed by Marielle Clayton (59.95).
800 Meters:
In the women's 800 meters, Kendra Krueger paced Tampa with a time of 2:10.86, followed by Kara Bergeron and Ava Stout.
1,500 Meters:
In the women's 1,500 meters at UCF, Emma Barcelona was UT's top finisher in 4:56.8, while Kara Bergeron ran 4:42.3 in the invitational section.
5,000 Meters:
In the women's 5,000 meters at WashU, Hannah Diete set a school record with a time of 16:54.3, leading a deep Spartan group.
10,000 Meters:
In the women's 10,000 meters, Camryn Sattler and Bella Noreika represented UT.
3000m Steeplechase:
In the women's 3,000‑meter steeplechase, Mary Richmond competed for the Spartans.
4x400m Relay:
In the women's 4x400‑meter relay at UCF, Tampa's squad (Allison Murphy–Madi Tweedie–Tatum Lunsford–Marielle Clayton) finished in 3:57.6.
