Tampa Ranked No. 12 In Preseason Women’s Cross Country Poll
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team has been tabbed No. 12 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II National Preseason Poll.
The Spartan women also enter the season as the No. 1 team in the South Region while the UT men carry a No. 5 ranking the region.
Tampa finished eighth in the final poll of the 2008 season and was 14th at the NCAA Championships. UT was ranked as high as No. 7 last year, representing the highest ranking in school history.
UT opens the 2009 season Fri., Sept. 4 at the Early Bird Classic, which it will host at Dover Trails.
