Tyler Blackburn Named to All-SSC Team
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Seven student-athletes have been named to the 2015 All-SSC Men's Cross Country Team. Saint Leo University boasts the Runner of the Year and Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year. Voting for the team was conducted among the Sunshine State Conference cross country coaches.
Tyler Blackburn represented the University of Tampa on the team, as the senior finished eighth at the 2015 Sunshine State Conference Championships.
Valentin Lenz of Saint Leo becomes the third straight Saint Leo Lion to be named SSC Men's Runner of the Year (Niclas Bez, 2014; Carl Dunne, 2013). Lenz is named Runner of the Year after winning the 2015 SSC Championship and leading SLU to the team title for a second straight year.
Kent Reiber is selected Coach of the Year by his peers. In his first year as Head Coach, Reiber lead the Lions men's program to its second consecutive conference championship. Dean McGregor of Florida Southern College is named Freshman of the Year
Valentin Lenz, Niclas Bez, Rafal Matuszczak (Saint Leo), and Wade White (Nova Southeastern) repeat as ALL-SSC honorees from 2014. Matuszczak also earned All-SSC honors in 2013.
