MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa cross country runner Joe Weber was honored by the Sunshine State Conference as its male runner of the week, marking the first time he has earned the recognition.
Weber, a senior from Kendall Park, N.J., took first place overall at Florida Tech's Invitational in Melbourne this past weekend. The Kendall Park, New Jersey native, posted an 8k time of 26:35.1 to win by 0.9 seconds over teammate Trevor Kattenberg. Weber's performance marks the first win of his collegiate career and a sealed a team victory for the Spartans.
