Deanna Henriott Garners Pitcher of the Week Honor

TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa freshman softball player Deanna Henriott was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week after leading UT to a pair of victories over fourth-ranked Florida Southern College.

Henriott, who hails from St. Petersburg, picked up both victories in the Spartans' SSC series win at number-four Florida Southern. Pitching 20.1 innings, Henriott surrendered just one earned run on 17 hits and four walks with 16 strikeouts. Henriott held the Mocs scoreless in both of her wins, scattering eight hits, walking one, and fanning four in a 6-4 game two victory. In the series finale, she came on to pitch the final 6.1 innings in scoreless fashion, allowing just two hits and a walk while retiring five. In a 2-1 setback in the opener, she gave up one earned run on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
