Dominating Week Earns Deanna Henriott SSC Hardware
ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa softball player Deanna Henriott has been recognized by the Sunshine State Conference as its pitcher of the week for the period ending March 11, as announced by commissioner Jay Jones on Monday.
In three seven-inning appearances, Henriott tossed three complete-game shutouts, including a perfect game.
In a 4-0 win over Georgian Court, the senior from St. Petersburg, Fla., struck out 18 batters without allowing a single base runner. It went down as Henriott's second career perfect game and just the third in program history.
She then held strong despite a lack of run support in a pair of 1-0 SSC road wins at Florida Tech, allowing just one hit and two walks in each contest. She struck out 12 batters in the series opener and then fanned nine Panthers in the finale.
For the week, Henriott held opposing batters to a meager .030 average. She currently carries a streak of 37.1 scoreless innings pitched.
