Julia Morrow Earns SSC Pitcher of the Week Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa's Julia Morrow has been selected Sunshine State Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Morrow, a senior from Baiting Hollow, N.Y. allowed just three hits in 20 and two-thirds innings of work in the Eckerd Invitational. She was able to rack up 39 strikeouts through the Spartans five wins. In a 4-0 win against Chadron St., Morrow threw a perfect game where she recorded 15 strikeouts.
Later in the week, during a 9-0 win against West Florida, Morrow also added a no hitter to her name through five innings of work and another 10 Ks. Along with her three wins, the Spartan senior was also able to pick up here first save on the year in a 2-0 win over Colorado Christian.
UT will be back in action on Saturday, as they host Colorado Christian for a doubleheader in its home opener at the Naimoli Family Softball Field with the first game set to begin at 1 p.m.
