Weekend Preview: Tampa Hosts Florida Southern Starting on St. Patrick's Day

The Tampa Spartans Softball team will host rival Florida Southern in a weekend series starting on St. Patrick's Day.

SSC Teams with National Rankings: #3 Tampa, #23 Saint Leo

Tampa

• Despite the Spartan's "Spring Break", Tampa went to work on the diamond this past week. Tampa went 8-1 and outscored their opponents 69-20 overall this past week. They improve their record to 18-1 and 6-0 in the SSC. Although the Spartans couldn't stay undefeated, they still are ranked #3 nationally. Tampa will have a lighter week this week as they host rival Florida Southern in a weekend SSC series starting on St. Patrick's Day.

Florida Southern

• The Mocs have an 11-10 record and are 5-4 in conference play. They are currently tied for 4^th in the SSC with Lynn and Barry. This past week Florida Southern went 3-4, splitting games between Southwest Minnesota State and Lander University and dropping two of three to Florida Tech this past weekend. The Mocs will have another busy week coming up as they host doubleheaders against Post University and Hillsdale College before traveling to Tampa to face the #3 team in the nation for a weekend series.
