Spartans Break Into WBCA Top 25 Poll
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's basketball team received its first national top 25 ranking of the 2008-09 season as it was tabbed 24th in the current USA TODAY ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. The ranking was UT's first since the second week of last season.
The Spartans are currently riding a seven game winning streak and carry an 8-1 overall record. Among UT's victories was an upset of #4 Drury. Tampa returns to action on Dec. 30, when it hosts Augusta State University.
Tampa is one of three Sunshine State Conference schools in the top 25, joining #16 Barry and #19 Rollins.
