Tiara Cook Earns SSC Player Of The Week Accolade
ORLANDO, Fla. - For the second consecutive week, a Spartan has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week. Tiara Cook is the recipient of the honor this week after she helped guide No. 16 to Tampa to a pair of victories during the period.
Teammate Caitlyn Mitryk was honored a week ago.
In a 72-39 victory over Florida Memorial, the Holiday, Fla. native registered 21 points, eight rebounds and five steals in just 18 minutes of action. She followed that performance up by scoring 19 and pulling down nine boards while again recording five steals in Tampa's 75-57 win over Florida Tech. Particularly impressive was Cook at the free throw line in the SSC opener as she converted 15 of 18 attempts.
The senior is leading Tampa in scoring with a 15.1 points per game average and a strong .531 field goal percentage. She is also UT's leading rebounder, collecting 7.6 boards per contest.
