Spartans Set to Host Sailfish
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (12-5) women's basketball team will hit the hardwood this Saturday at the Martinez Center against Palm Beach Atlantic University (5-15). Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Spartans are looking to bounce back after a 58-54 loss to Florida Tech at home this past Wednesday.
Junior Illyssa Vivo leads the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game. In a balanced effort, three other Spartans also average double figures in scoring, Moriah Hodge (12.2 ppg), Juliana Cavallaro (10.2 ppg), and Shamika Williams (10.4 ppg).
The Sailfish are coming off a loss to Eckerd College, and are 2-6 for the month of January. Seniors Ashley Dolberry and Lynsey Poole lead their squad with 14.6 ppg and 12.8 ppg respectively.
The Spartans lead the all-time series against the Sailfish 12-1. The last time the two teams met was earlier this season in which the Spartans defeated the Sailfish 68-60.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $5. UT students and faculty/staff will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.
