Spartans to Host Pirates
Tampa, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's basketball team will take on Armstrong Atlantic State University Saturday at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m.
The Spartans are 1-1 after hosting the Spartan Challenge this past weekend. They defeated Francis Marion 73-65, but had some trouble with No. 3 Clayton State.
Tampa is led by Keke Jones, averaging 12.5 points per game. Two other Spartans are also scoring in double figures so far this season.
Armstrong is currently 2-0, coming off of a 96-59 win against Columbia (S.C.). The Pirates are led by Tyler Carlson, averaging 19.5 ppg.
Tampa leads the all-time series 2-1 against the Pirates. The teams last met in 2009.
Tickets are available at the gate for $5. Children 12-and-under will be admitted free. UT faculty, staff and students are admitted free when displaying a valid Spartan ID card.
