HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Tampa opened the game with strong defensive energy, holding the Cougars to just 11 points across the first two quarters. After a slow offensive start from both sides, the Spartans found rhythm from beyond the arc. Maddie O'Berski buried a three to spark Tampa midway through the first, and Amy Thompson later connected from deep as the Spartans closed the opening quarter ahead 13–5.
The momentum carried into the second frame. Tampa's ball movement and spacing created consistent perimeter looks, resulting in four made threes in the quarter—including another from Thompson and a pair from Brooklynn Butler. Ryan Franklin controlled the paint throughout the half, adding multiple finishes around the rim. Tampa outscored CCU 23–6 in the second, taking a commanding 36–11 lead into the break.
Second Half
Colorado Christian generated their strongest offensive stretch in the third quarter, knocking down two threes and scoring 17 in the frame. Hayley Luther accounted for eight of those points as the Cougars trimmed the margin.
Tampa, however, continued to maintain control. Franklin remained efficient inside, scoring eight third-quarter points, while O'Berski added her third three-pointer of the night. In the fourth, the Spartans' defense tightened once again, holding CCU to just seven points to close out a decisive 23-point win at home.
